A Warm, Intentional Start for Your Baby

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care for the first time is one of the most significant decisions a parent makes. We do not take that trust lightly — and we build every inch of our Infant Room around earning it.

Our Guiding Principle

“Every baby deserves individualized, responsive care from people who know them — their hunger cues, their sleep patterns, their temperament, and what makes them settle.”

What We Provide

Built Around Your Baby, Not Around Convenience

Four non-negotiable commitments that define how we care for every infant in our room.

🔒 AAP Safe Sleep — No Shortcuts

Ohana follows the American Academy of Pediatrics safe sleep guidelines without exception. All infants sleep only in cribs. This policy does not bend regardless of home habits. The safety of every baby in our care is non-negotiable.

🍼 Individualized Feeding

All infants are held during bottle feeding — always. Breastfeeding mothers are always welcome. Feeding plans are tailored to each child’s developmental stage, cues, and family preferences. As babies grow into solid foods, families review menus with us directly.

👟 A Shoeless Room

To maintain the cleanest possible environment for crawling infants, we enforce a shoeless policy in the Infant Room. All adults — teachers and visiting parents alike — remove their shoes before entering. Socks required; slippers provided.

📄 Daily Reports at Every Pickup

Teachers provide a detailed daily report at pickup covering feeding times, nap schedules, diapering, and the activities your baby experienced. You will never wonder what your child did today.

A Learning Environment for Babies

Thoughtful Experiences, Not Busy Activities

Infants learn through their senses and through play-based exploration. Our teachers create engaging, age-appropriate experiences using language and movement, music and books, water play and art, and age-appropriate dramatic play materials.

Each week, teachers develop a customized plan based on the current interests and developmental stage of the infants in their care. No two weeks are identical, and no baby is treated as a group rather than an individual.

Family Partnership

You Are Your Baby’s First Teacher

Every morning, we ask parents to share a brief update about how the night went — sleep, feeding, temperament — so we can meet your baby’s needs from the moment they arrive.

We believe you know your baby better than anyone. We bring that knowledge into how we care for them every single day.
